Together, focusing on healthy communities

Healthy Environments

Environmental Health addresses the importance of having healthy living, working, and natural environments.

We work in partnership with community and local organizations to advocate for and engage with the local environment in healthy and sustainable ways.

Community Garden

Through our plot in the Flemingdon community garden and partnerships with local community groups, we seek to expand access to green space for all community members. Our garden groups meet once a week from May to September and provide a space to make friends, grow herbs and vegetables, and share our gardening knowledge and experience.

Farm Trips

Throughout the Spring-Fall seasons we frequently take bus trips to local farms, learn about where our food comes from, meet with farmers and have the chance to bring home some delicious local produce. Contact us for upcoming farm trip dates.

Environmental Engagement

In the spring of 2013 we expanded our environmental health programming at the centre. Check the website or come by the health centre for information and upcoming events including; a walking club, tree planting, ravine stewardship, permaculture design workshops, field trips, children's programming, and more!

Are you interested in learning about:

  • growing food on your balcony
  • making environmentally safe household cleaners
  • or about the healing properties of herbs from the garden?

Join us for one of our fun and informative workshops. Check back on our website or drop by the health centre for more details.
